Nutritional Requirements For Dogs

A special diet for your dog will help them to keep their proper form while inviting them into a healthy and happy life.  If you are looking at options to help with pet care, then you will want to consider the different options for a healthy diet.

Most assume that basic dog food carries the nutrients and mixtures that maintain a healthy diet for a dog.  However, many pet lovers have found that there are other nutrients that can be mixed in with this to provide a well – rounded and nutritious meal for your dog.  This balances out their health and allows them to have continuous energy while feeling better with every meal.

Imporatance of Protein in a Dog’s Diet

The main ingredient that every dog needs is protein.  It helps your dogs with growth, maintenance and basic care.  You want to make sure that the proteins contain essential amino acids, specifically which are designed to support your dog.  Most meats are able to provide your dog with the basics that they need for proteins.  However, you do not want to feed your dog eggs, especially if they are raw, as these have opposing amino acids that are not healthy for your pet.  This particular ingredient is the most substantial and important to your dog’s diet, specifically because of the balance that it brings to their body.

Remember ! Fats are a form of Energy for your dog

When you are looking at the essential ingredients of a dog’s diet, you will also want to add in other mixtures.  Fats are another key that helps to give your dog energy and to build their vitality.  This includes Linoleic acid is the most common fat that is used, followed by omega 6 and omega 3 fatty acids.  Your pet uses these to protect their internal organs, and without the fats, they will begin to experience skin and health deficiencies.  You will also want to mix in carbohydrates to the key ingredients.  This is based on brans, such as wheat, that combine both fibers and carbohydrates.  This maintains the energy of your dog while balancing their digestive system.

Vitamins ! Vitamins ! Vitamins !

Vitamins are the third component that should be mixed into every dog’s diet.  You will want to include a balance of Vitamins A, B, C and D, similar to what humans needs.  However, it is also important to make sure that there is not an excessive amount of vitamins given through supplements.  This can lead to other problems and create deficiencies and imbalances in the body.  You can check the basic foods that you are giving to your dog, specifically to assist you with the foods that you decide to give your pet.

The key to longevity with your loyal companion is to offer the right diet.  Adding in a different set of ingredients to their daily food also allows them to maintain a state of well – being.  There is a balance of ingredients that every dog requires for a healthier and happier life.  Making sure that these are with the food that you provide also allows your pet to remain in shape and at their best health.
